The marketing team that came up with the slogan “Virginia is for Lovers” was filled with geniuses. It evokes romantic images of horseback riding on the beach at sunset and candlelit dinners with your special someone. The problem is that I can’t think of one place in Virginia I’d really want to stay with my lover. Nothing personal against Virginia, but when I think of a enchanting, whimsical getaway, Virginia isn’t on the top of my list.
